The Problem
When students leave home to study at Chitkara University from other states, it's easy to feel lost and disconnected during the first few months. Group chats on WhatsApp get chaotic and old announcements, event dates, and senior contact details quickly get buried.
How It Solves It
Bengali-Chitkarian gives students a permanent home on the web. It showcases upcoming cultural events, stories, and a direct directory of senior students who can help new batchmates with academics, hostel life, and campus guidance.
How It's Built
- React & Vite: Fast loading times and smooth page transitions even on spotty campus Wi-Fi.
- Tailwind CSS: Designed mobile-first so students can check updates easily from their phones.
- Lightweight & Static: Simple to maintain and host with zero server costs.
What It Means
A real community site built for a real group of 500+ campus students, proving the value of building software tailored to community needs.
